Easy Cupcake Decorations for a Romantic Occasion

Whether for Valentines Day, a marriage proposal, engagement party or just a romantic evening to celebrate an anniversary, cupcake decorations with a romantic theme can be just the ticket.

Try this cupcake decoration idea for the perfect romantic occasion.

We all know that red roses can be so expensive, particularly on occasions such as Valentines Day — and I know you don’t want to skimp but do want to show your love that you care without breaking the bank.
Forget about the fresh red roses, decorate your cupcakes with white frosting and add red sugar roses. Arrange these decorated cupcakes in the shape of a heart. In the centre of the heart shape carefully place your gift. If you are about to propose you could place the boxed engagement ring in the centre of your heart shape. I recommend that you use at least a dozen red roses to keep with tradition but of course more is better. Do you think there are too many cupcakes to eat? The answer is to place two or more roses on each cupcake if size permits.

Your message, such as your proposal, can be piped onto other cupcakes that do not have the red rose. Place the message in a row above your heart shape. If the roses are small and delicate you may also be able to fit one of these on the message cupcake.

For those whose abilities don’t extend to baking and the decorating of cupcakes it’s an easy matter to purchase ready made cupcakes and also the additional sugar roses to place on top. The piping of a message may not be your particular level of skill but no matter, use edible silver balls (called cachous) to place on the cupcakes in the form of your letters. You may need more cupcakes to fit the message in this case.

This cupcake decoration idea will be remembered and appreciated for years to come particularly on Valentines Day, anniversaries or whatever the romantic occasion that you were celebrating.
