Want an elegant cupcake for a pleasant winter event like a shower? Make these cupcakes, decorated with a graceful winter flower, for a unique presentation.

For this decoration you simply need sticks of winterfresh chewing gum, extra vanilla frosting, and yellow candy-coated sunflower kernels.

Make cupcakes in your desired flavor as your recipe instructs. For these decorations, a simple yellow or lemon flavor will do. Ice the cupcake with vanilla icing.

To make each flower, use clean kitchen scissors or a small sharp knife and cut a piece of gum into leaf shapes of various sizes. Pinch the base end of each leaf, forming a curved leaf shape. Add frosting to a small resealable plastic bag and cut a small hole in the corner.

Arrange leaves in a random circular pattern on top of each cupcake, working from the outer leaves to the inner. Press outer leaves into the top of the cupcake and secure them to the cupcake with additional frosting as needed. Continue adding leaves and securing with frosting to form a poinsettia looking flower. Gently press sunflower kernels into the center. Voila, a dainty cupcake for many occasions.
