American Flag Cupcake Cake - Top View

Making a cupcake “cake” is fairly easy - just arrange a number of cupcakes in a rectangle and decorate the top as you might a regular cake. As you can see from the accompanying pictures, the effect is very nice.

A plastic tray makes a nice base for the cake, and a dab of frosting on the bottom of each cupcake cup will hold it in place.

Now you can get really creative. Instead of thinking of how to decorate each cupcake, use a larger number of cupcakes to make a larger “canvas” for your artistic expression!
